Among them, with support from 16z.AI, a character is now permitting its customers to hold voice conversations with its AI characters. It is available in seven languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese.

Before the public release, the company reportedly tested how well it could make calls. During that test, it was reportedly claimed that the app had more than 3 million users who dialled over 20 million combined calls.

For commercial purposes, the company used conversations in AI characters as part of role-play game play time, interviews, and other language usage.

All the user has to do is click a button to start calling a user-created AI persona. Personality. AI says this feature eliminates latency and improves the overall experience of the call.

You can easily switch from texting to phoning. You can also tap to interrupt while the AI is speaking.

Character.AI has introduced an option called Character Voices which enables users to listen to voices of characters during one-on-one conversations. The company claims it is because of this capability of creating their own sounds that there are over a million voices in the library of the app.

In reality, several Reddit users have complained of their characters changing personality around the same time the firm released its new calling feature.
